This short trip skips accommodation on Praslin, using Mahé as your base: one day for the capital and mountain routes, one day for beaches and snorkeling, and one day for a quick trip to La Digue. This route saves the most time and involves the fewest hotel changes.
Arrive in Victoria in the morning, arrange a rental car or confirm pickup; in the afternoon, visit Little Ben, the market, and the Hindu temple, then hike the Morne Blanc trail in Morne Seychellois National Park (about 1.5 hours to the summit, offering views of the sea of clouds and the west coast); in the evening, enjoy the sunset at Beau Vallon Beach, and check out the beach night market if it’s the weekend.
Hire a car and drive south along the west coast: coconut palm beaches in Takamaka and Intendance, then photo ops in Baie Lazare; in the afternoon, return to Sainte Anne Marine National Park for a glass-bottom boat tour or a half-day snorkeling trip; for dinner, choose a seafood restaurant on the north coast of Victoria, with per-person costs around 300–500 SCR.
Take an early flight or the morning Cat Cocos ferry with a transfer via Praslin to La Digue: rent a bicycle and head straight to Anse Source d’Argent—the soft morning light is perfect for photography; have lunch with coconut curry in the fishing village; in the afternoon, circle the island via the heron sanctuary and Grand Anse surfing beach; take the evening ferry back to Mahé.
In the morning, stock up on vanilla, coconut oil, and rum souvenirs at the Victoria market, then head to the airport in the afternoon. If your flight is in the evening, you can add a morning swim at Beau Vallon or relax at your hotel pool to wind down.
The biggest risk on a short trip is missing your ferry—book ferry times as early as possible and allow extra time: the last ferry back to Mahé from La Digue departs between 4–5 PM, and missing it may require finding a last-minute guesthouse. If it rains on Day 2, the Sainte Anne Marine National Park trip can be swapped with the morning of Day 4, and the National History Museum and Botanical Gardens in Victoria can fill the gap; hikers may consider adding the Anse Major Trail as a backup option for Day 1—it runs along the coast with no water stops, so bring your own supply. It’s safer to plan a daily budget of at least $280 per person overall.
