Key sights include the Alhambra (book tickets well in advance, especially for time slots including the Nasrid Palaces) and the Generalife Gardens, with views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. In the afternoon, explore the Albayzín neighbourhood and enjoy the sunset over the Alhambra from the Mirador de San Nicolás.

Tips

  • Alhambra and Sagrada Família tickets are hard to get during peak season—book several weeks in advance on the official websites.
  • Andalusia can be very hot in summer, so plan activities for the morning and evening.
  • Be mindful of pickpockets on Las Ramblas and in the metro in Barcelona.
