Verzasca Dam
The Verzasca Dam is located in the Verzasca Valley of Switzerland’s Ticino Canton. It is a spectacular arch dam, constructed starting in 1961 and completed in 1965. Spanning 380 meters in length and standing 220 meters high, it is the fourth tallest dam in Switzerland and one of the world’s most renowned bungee jumping sites.
The Verzasca Dam became famous after being featured in the 1995 James Bond film "GoldenEye." In the movie, James Bond once again takes on the mission of saving the world, along with performing a heart-stopping stunt. To infiltrate a Russian base, 007 plunges from the top of the over 240-meter-high concrete dam—a scene shot at the Verzasca Dam. Since then, it has become one of the most popular bungee jumping destinations in the world. The massive Verzasca Dam is a paradise for bungee enthusiasts, with its 220-meter drop meeting the thrill-seeking demands of many.
Brave souls leap with arms outstretched toward the abyss, experiencing the adrenaline rush of freefall before bouncing repeatedly, eventually landing safely back on the dam to the cheers and applause of onlookers.
