The 1992 World Expo was held in Seville, Spain, from April 20 to October 20, lasting 176 days with the theme "The Age of Discovery." The expo site spanned a total area of 215 hectares, attracting over 41,814,571 visitors.

The Seville Expo was deemed by the Spanish government as the most successful edition in the history of the World Expo. To host the event, the Spanish government invested $2 billion over seven years. A total of 112 countries and regions, 23 international organizations, 17 Spanish autonomous communities, and 7 major multinational corporations participated, with over 600 architects from around the world contributing. They transformed a barren piece of land on the outskirts of Seville into a magnificent exposition site. A total of 98 pavilions were built, marking a remarkable feat in the design and construction of one of the world’s greatest architectural complexes.

Today, some pavilions have been demolished, but parts of the site remain intact for visitors to explore. Although the grandeur of the 1992 pavilions and the cultural impact of the global gathering can no longer be fully experienced, it is undeniable that the expo brought significant positive changes to Seville. The legacy of the expo site continues to contribute to the city’s development.
