Cesson-Sévigné is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in northwestern France, located as a suburb east of Rennes. The area is an important middle-class residential district as well as a commercial and industrial hub of eastern Rennes. The prestigious École Supérieure de Télécommunications (Sup'Télécom), a leading French institution for advanced military communications technology, has a campus here.

Cesson-Sévigné is a highly attractive cultural city, home to numerous sculptures created by the renowned French Romantic realist artist Jean Boucher, as well as a beautiful sculpture park. The city boasts blooming flowers and lush trees, with a wealth of parks and gardens that earned it a national award in the 2005 “Entente Florale” competition. In addition, the cultural center regularly hosts many sculpture exhibitions and other events.

Visitors can also explore the Communications Museum opened in 2004, a 19th-century castle, magnificent manors, a 16th-century barn, a church built in 1902, and many exquisite residential buildings.
