La Roche-sur-Yon

La Roche-sur-Yon is a commune in the Vendée department of the Pays de la Loire region in western France, and also the capital of the Vendée department. Originally a small town, the present city was established on May 25, 1804, by Napoleon after he suppressed the Vendée uprising.
