Prescott House Museum

Prescott House Museum is situated in the Starr's Point community of Nova Scotia and is part of the Nova Scotia Museum. This white cottage was built by the well-known Nova Scotia businessman, horticulturist, and politician Charles Ramage Prescott.

This beautiful cottage was constructed by Prescott between 1812 and 1816 in the Georgian architectural style and is regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of Georgian architecture in Canada. Prescott used it as a base for agricultural experiments, importing a wide variety of plants and trees, especially apple varieties. After his death, it was abandoned for a time before being lived in by his two granddaughters, who donated it to the government in 1971. The government then turned it into a museum.

Visitors can explore Prescott’s life within the cottage, study Georgian architecture, and learn about the apple industry. The surrounding area features gardens originally established by Prescott, filled with birdsong, fragrant blooms, and lush greenery in a harmonious setting.
