Maritime Command Museum

The Maritime Command Museum is located in the former naval dockyard of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Established in 1974, it is dedicated to presenting the history of the Royal Canadian Navy and collecting, preserving, and exhibiting items related to the navy. The museum primarily showcases the history of the Royal Canadian Navy from 1910 to the present and features a rich collection.

The museum’s collection includes uniforms of the Royal Navy, ship models, vessel replicas, medals, awards, ship bells, weapons, naval barracks, daily necessities, and depictions of battles throughout history. Among the most captivating exhibits are the first naval ensign of the Royal Canadian Navy and a historic collection of ship bells. With over 30 rooms open to visitors, the museum displays the weapons and related equipment of the Royal Canadian Navy. Each room focuses on a different aspect of the navy, helping visitors better understand its history.
