Craigdarroch Castle (also translated as Oak Castle) derives its name from the Gaelic words "Craigdarroch," meaning "rocky oak," which symbolizes the castle and its surrounding landscape. This castle is located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is an opulent Victorian-era mansion built in the Scottish Baronial style. As a landmark of Victoria, it has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada.

The castle was commissioned by the wealthy coal baron Robert Dunsmuir and his wife. Originally spanning 28 acres, it featured 39 rooms: the ground floor housed the drawing room, dining room, library, and living quarters; the second and third floors contained bedrooms, parlors, and storage rooms; while the fourth floor included a ballroom. The interior is richly decorated with magnificent stained glass windows, exquisite woodwork, luxurious Victorian furnishings, and fully functioning plumbing and electrical systems—all reflecting the wealth and status of its owners. Climbing the spiral staircase up 87 steps leads to the grand hall on the fourth floor. From the castle, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Victoria, the scenic Juan de Fuca Strait, and the snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.

Following the decline of the Dunsmuir family, the castle was sold. Over the next 60 years, it served variously as a military hospital, Victoria College, and the Victoria Conservatory of Music before becoming a museum in 1979. Craigdarroch Castle preserves the residential style of 19th-century Victorian business and political elites, offering a glimpse into the upper-class society of that era. It attracts numerous visitors from around the world each year.
