Located on Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour, the museum offers visitors the chance to experience the natural and human history of British Columbia and its First Nations through unique exhibits and galleries. With realistic and fascinating displays—such as dioramas of the Ice Age, Old Town, and the coast—featuring over one million artifacts, the exhibits span across three floors. The third floor houses the First Peoples Gallery, which explores Indigenous history, as well as the Modern History Gallery covering the 1700s to the 1970s. The second floor focuses on the nature of British Columbia, using dioramas to recreate various ecosystems from the end of the Ice Age to the modern era. The first floor features an IMAX theatre where you can experience the world of National Geographic, as well as the Royal Museum Shop, which sells a variety of British Columbia-related goods.
