Dove Lake

Dove Lake is located within the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in northern Tasmania. It is a cirque lake formed by glacial activity. In recent years, Dove Lake has become a well-known tourist attraction, drawing many visitors who come specifically to see it.

Measuring 2.1 meters in length and 0.7 meters in width, Dove Lake may not be very big, but it is full of character. The surroundings are tranquil, encircled by towering mountains and lush trees. The crystal-clear waters allow you to see fish swimming beneath the surface, while the reflections of the green mountains shimmer on the lake. The lake water is a deep blue, and from high above, it looks like a huge sapphire scattered on the earth—radiant and dazzling.

Although the lake is deep, its exceptional clarity makes the stones and sand at the bottom clearly visible. Everything underwater seems close enough to touch. Visitors can access the lake via the 40-mile Cradle Mountain Summit Walk to further enjoy the stunning scenery around the lake.

Near Dove Lake, there are also several small silver-white sandy beaches where visitors can take a rest after a day of exploration.
