Wineglass Bay is located in Freycinet National Park on the east coast of Tasmania. Its name vividly describes its shape — the crescent shoreline forms the bowl of the glass, while the sea is the wine within. It is ranked among the world’s top ten most beautiful bays and one of the world’s top ten best beaches.

The perfect curves of Wineglass Bay’s white sandy beach and turquoise-blue waters create an unforgettable sight. Viewed from afar, it resembles a glass of blue-green wine, waiting to be sipped. In 1999, American travel magazine Outside voted Wineglass Bay as one of the world’s top ten beaches, describing it as follows: “The beach and the Tasman Sea form a well-defined crescent shape, much like the smile on a ‘Have a Nice Day’ button. I was alone in this vast expanse where sky meets sea, feeling the wilderness, serenity, and grandeur of the natural landscape...” A gentle breeze blows across the bay, and waves lap softly against the shore, where you might even find uniquely shaped seashells. The crystal-clear, boundless blue waters roll toward the shore, meeting the silver-white beach that forms a perfect rim like that of a wineglass.
