Bodestone Lavender Farm is located in Tasmania, Australia, covering an area of 265 acres. Its history dates back to the 1920s, when a bold English family arrived in northeastern Tasmania and discovered that the region’s climate was very similar to that of southern France, a major lavender-producing area, and thus built this popular lavender farm.

The farm receives about 900 millimeters of rainfall annually, which provides ample moisture without the need for irrigation, and the abundant sunlight also aids plant maturation. In winter, the crisp cold allows the plants to rest fully, quietly awaiting the arrival of the next spring. Currently, Bodestone Lavender Farm is Tasmania’s only producer of native lavender essential oil, as well as the world’s largest privately-owned lavender cultivation farm. It produces high-quality lavender flowers and essential oils, which are key ingredients for many world-renowned perfumes. In addition to primarily producing pure lavender essential oil, the farm also sells dried lavender flowers and other lavender-based products.

Thousands of visitors come to Bodestone Lavender Farm every year, with summer being the harvest season for lavender and also the peak tourist season. From December to January each year — the summer high season — around 600 visitors come daily to experience the romantic and cozy atmosphere of the farm.
