Established in 1981, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was initially founded with the primary purpose of rescuing injured or orphaned wildlife. Located in Brighton in southern Tasmania, about 25 kilometers north of the city center, the sanctuary has now grown into one of Tasmania’s most popular wildlife parks.

At Bonorong, Tasmanian devils are active during the day, and you can often see them. The park is also home to wombats, koalas, birds, quolls, and many other fascinating native animals. Notably, there are 80 free-roaming kangaroos that you can approach, pat on the chin, and even get some kangaroo food for free at the sanctuary entrance.
