This area features an otherworldly primeval forest of living fossils, along with thousands of limestone pillars, some as tall as 4 metres, creating a truly stunning landscape. In ancient times, this was a coastal area with forests. Sand carried by sea breezes formed dunes, and as the primeval forest withered and the land eroded, the sand settled, leaving behind limestone formations that remained standing like towers among the roots.
