　 　 Highlights: Scenic views of Shark Bay, deep-sea fishing, dolphin feeding, whale watching, etc.　 Introduction: Shark Bay is located on the westernmost coast of Australia and has been designated a World Heritage Site due to four significant natural features: representing the Earth’s evolutionary history, showcasing ecological and biological processes, exhibiting supernatural phenomena, and providing a sanctuary for a wide range of species. Shark Bay is also highly significant in zoology, mainly because the animals inhabiting the peninsula and islands are relatively undisturbed. Among the 26 endangered Australian mammal species, five can be found on Bernier and Dorre Islands, including the Rothschild's rock-wallaby, Shark Bay mouse, and banded hare-wallaby. The Shark Bay region hosts over 230 bird species, accounting for 35% of Australia’s recorded birdlife. It is also home to a diverse array of amphibians and reptiles, with around 100 species, many of which exist near the northern or southern limits of their range. The area is also important for certain cave-dwelling animals, such as the sandhill frog. Shark Bay includes three endemic species of skinks, 30 species of lizards — ten of which can be found only in Australia. Shark Bay is renowned for its marine life. There are over 10,000 dugongs, and Monkey Mia is especially known for its dolphins. In the southern part of Shark Bay, loggerhead turtles can also be found. Dirk Hartog Island in Western Australia is a key habitat for loggerhead turtles, and the Western Australian government manages the Shark Bay World Heritage Area on a daily basis.　 Transportation: Rent a car from Perth or take a flight.
