Wesley Church Perth

Wesley Church is located at 75 William Street and Hay Street in Perth, and is one of the city’s oldest religious buildings. It is also one of the few remaining colonial-era structures from the 19th century. The church was listed on the National Estate Register in 1985 and included in the Western Australian Heritage Register in 1995.

Wesley Church is one of the most photogenic buildings in Perth. Its long history, magnificent exterior, and exquisite interior make it a popular destination for visitors. The church was designed by Richard Roach Jewell, with its foundation laid in 1867 and opening to the public in 1870. The church bell was originally hung in the southern tower and came from a sailing ship. The first organ was installed in 1875, and the vestry and choir loft were added in 1880. Due to years of wear and tear, restoration work began in 1985 and was completed in 1987. The restored church remains as majestic and sacred as ever.
