Featherdale Wildlife Park

Established in 1953 and opened to the public in 1972, Featherdale Wildlife Park spans seven acres in Sydney’s western suburbs and has become one of Sydney’s most popular zoos.

The park houses over 2,000 animals of different species, organized into sections including the Reptile House, Insect House, Nocturnal Animal House, Bird Aviary, Kangaroo Enclosure, Butterfly Garden, and more. Visitors can see lizards, pythons, turtles, crocodiles, kangaroos, butterflies, peacocks, penguins, and more. You can even hand-feed kangaroos and emus, or have a face-to-face encounter with friendly koalas. The park also features a café, souvenir shop, and picnic areas.

For children, perhaps the best classroom isn’t in a school, but in nature. Featherdale Wildlife Park is just such an open classroom where kids can learn about animals through play — not only gaining rich knowledge, but also cherishing unforgettable memories.

Featherdale Wildlife Park is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, year-round except for Christmas Day.
