Spit Bridge is a bascule bridge located in Sydney, built in 1924, connecting the suburbs of Mosman and Spit. The bridge features steel girders, a concrete deck, and piers, making it extremely sturdy. Around 70,000 motor vehicles and 60,000 buses cross the bridge every day.

Spit Bridge is a lifting bridge. Since the bridge is only six meters above the water surface, small boats can pass underneath, but larger cargo ships cannot navigate smoothly. Therefore, part of the bridge deck needs to be lifted to allow vessels through, and then lowered again afterward. The bridge is raised and lowered almost every week. As the only operational bascule bridge in Sydney, it attracts many visitors who come to watch the lifting and lowering process.
