Annslie Botanic Gardens
Nestled in the Annslie Hills southwest of Sydney, New South Wales, the Annslie Botanic Gardens opened in 1988, spanning 416 hectares. As Australia's largest botanic garden, it focuses on cultivating native plants, featuring over 4,000 varieties—truly an ocean of flowers and a world of birds.
In this vast botanical garden, visitors can enjoy sweeping grassland vistas, charming miniature gardens, babbling creeks, tranquil lakes, and towering mountains—all awe-inspiring. The garden engages the senses of sight, touch, and smell to showcase its innate charm. A standout attraction is the striking "Blue Tree," which surprises many visitors with its vivid color. Everyone stops to inspect and even touch it, only to learn it’s a dyed dead tree crafted by staff—but it has become a beautiful landmark. The lush green lawns by the serene lakes are perfect for picnics. Given the garden’s size, cycling is a great way to explore.
The gardens are home to over 180 bird species, along with wildlife like red and grey kangaroos. Besides picnic spots, there are 20 kilometers of scenic walking trails—follow them to discover delightful surprises.
