Hong Kong Coliseum

The Hong Kong Coliseum is located at 9 Cheung Wong Road, Hung Hom, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, on the podium level of the MTR Hung Hom Station. It opened on April 27, 1983, and is currently managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The Coliseum has a diamond-like or inverted pyramid shape, wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. The entire venue is air-conditioned and has 12,500 seats, with no supporting pillars inside the arena.

Although named a "coliseum," very few actual sporting events are held here. Instead, it frequently hosts concerts by numerous famous singers. With one of the largest seating capacities in Hong Kong and being one of the few venues capable of accommodating a four-sided stage, most Hong Kong singers take pride in holding their solo concerts at the Coliseum. Sam Hui was the first singer to perform here, and the TVB-produced large-scale variety show “Miss Hong Kong Pageant” has also been held at this venue.
