Located in Yau Ma Tei, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, Hong Kong, Temple Street is a distinctive street that has been featured as a filming location in numerous movies. Running from north to south, it connects Man Ming Lane and Jordan Road and is famous for its night market offering affordable goods, often referred to as Hong Kong’s “People’s Nightclub.” Since Temple Street shares similarities with Mong Kok’s “Ladies’ Market,” but attracts mainly male visitors, it is also known as the “Men’s Street.”

Starting from the evening every day, the street-side stalls along Temple Street gradually begin business. The stalls offer a wide variety of items, including men’s clothing, handicrafts, tea sets, jade items, antiques, cheap electronics, and even adult products. Outside the Tin Hau Temple, there are many fortune-telling and face-reading stalls, and occasionally traditional Cantonese opera performances can be found nearby. In addition, the street also hosts numerous food stalls featuring local Hong Kong specialties such as seafood, clay pot rice, and various types of noodles. Thanks to their reasonable prices and good reputation, these are very popular among both residents and tourists.

Temple Street has appeared in many Hong Kong movies as well as foreign films set in Hong Kong, often depicted as a gritty, crime-ridden place. Additionally, the TVB drama series “Temple Street · Mum · Brothers” used this street as its main setting. Some Hong Kong singers are especially popular at Temple Street, including Roman Tam and Ha Gin Sing, whose songs reflect the authentic culture and voice of the common people found in the area.
