Kunlun Mountain is located about 232 kilometers south of Qiemo Town, stretching from east to west. Within Qiemo County, it spans approximately 250 kilometers in length and 110 kilometers in width, with an average elevation of 5,656 meters. Several major rivers in Qiemo originate from this mountain range. The terrain in the mountainous area is extremely complex, and the vegetation exhibits a distinct vertical zonation structure, featuring herbs such as wormwood, feather grass, and gentian. Due to its remoteness and sparse human presence, the area has become a paradise for wildlife. Over twenty species of wild animals thrive here, including wild yaks, bears, antelopes, snowcocks, eagles, wild asses, argali, red foxes, Tibetan wild camels, lynxes, and Yarkand deer, making it an excellent destination for eco-tourism.

Qiemo Town: Established in 1981, Qiemo Town is the political, economic, and cultural hub of Qiemo County. National Highway 315 runs through the town. It borders Arele Township to the east, faces Qiongkule Township to the south, and connects with Tuogelakeke Township to the west, covering a total area of 4 square kilometers. The town administers five community residential committees and one vegetable farming team. It has a total population of 13,836, including 8,331 ethnic minorities and 5,505 Han Chinese; the rural population is 229.
