Mount Senie, Mount Yangmai Yong, and Mount Xianuoduoji

Gongbo spans over 1,000 square kilometers and consists mainly of three completely separate yet closely located snow-capped peaks arranged in a triangular formation. The three peaks are pure white and towering, like sharp swords piercing the sky. The northern peak, Mount Senie, stands at an elevation of 6,032 meters, resembling a grand Buddha sitting proudly on a lotus throne; the southern peak, Mount Yangmai Yong, stands at an elevation of 5,958 meters, resembling a graceful and pure maiden; the eastern peak, Mount Xianuoduoji, stands at an elevation of 5,958 meters, resembling a vigorous and spirited youth.

These three sacred snow mountains are known as the Buddhist "Three Protectors of the World." They rank eleventh among the 24 sacred sites in world Buddhism. It is considered a “sacred place for all beings to worship, pay homage, and accumulate merit.” Making at least one pilgrimage to the Mt. Gongga Rinsumgongbu circuit in one’s lifetime is a lifelong aspiration for every Tibetan. Historical records indicate that in the 8th century AD, the master Padmasambhava consecrated Mt. Gongga Rinsumgongbu, naming and blessing the three peaks after the Buddhist deities Guanyin, Manjushri, and Vajrapani, thus establishing the fame of Mt. Gongga Rinsumgongbu throughout the Tibetan region.

Transportation: Starting from Daocheng County, pass through Riwa Town to reach the Yading Scenic Area entrance at Longtongba. Renting a horse to get to the Chonggu Temple campsite makes it more convenient to visit or photograph the three sacred mountains.
