Yongji Bridge in Luxian County

Yongji Bridge in Luxian County is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Yongji Bridge, built in the fifth year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1666), is a 12-pier, 13-span stone flat-beam bridge oriented from northeast to southwest. The bridge is 42.57 meters long, 1.88 meters wide, and the bridge slabs are 0.45 meters thick. On the fourth, sixth, seventh, and ninth piers from the northeast to the southwest, there is one round-carved dragon on each. The dragons' heads are open-mouthed, showing their teeth and tongues, with their upper lips curling upwards; the dragon tails are rendered in shallow relief with coiled designs. The carving techniques are delicate, the lines smooth, and the forms exquisitely rounded. This bridge is one of the typical representations of the dragon bridges in Luxian, and in June 2007, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
