Bitter Bridgezi Bridge

Bitter Bridgezi Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Bitter Bridgezi Bridge, built during the Ming Dynasty, is a four-pier, five-span stone flat-beam bridge oriented from southeast to northwest. The bridge has a total length of 18.4 meters and a deck width of 1.5 meters. Each of the two central piers features a round-carved dragon. The northeast end of the pier is topped with a dragon head, while the southwest end is crowned with a dragon tail. The second span from the northwest to the southeast (now the first span), modified in the 1950s to accommodate boat passage, was reconstructed as an arch with the arch rising 1.17 meters above the bridge deck. The bridge is exquisitely carved, with smooth lines and vivid, unique designs, making it one of the typical representations of Long Bridges in Luxian. In June 2007, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
