Tongzilin Stockade Site

The Tongzilin Stockade Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Luxian County.

The Tongzilin Stockade Site is located at the summit of Tongzilin Mountain. It stretches in an east-west direction, with a perimeter of approximately 2,000 meters and an area of about 140,000 square meters. Situated at an elevation of 550 meters, the site preserves the Anhuai Stockade Gate and parts of the surrounding walls, along with deep wells and stone houses within the stockade. The Anhuai Stockade Gate faces from southeast to northwest and was originally built in the 10th year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty, with subsequent renovations carried out in the 1st year and the 24th year of the Guangxu reign. The gate is 1.43 meters wide, 3.87 meters deep, and 4.1 meters tall. The doorway walls are inscribed with characters such as “安怀寨” (Anhuai Stockade) and “咸丰十年” (10th year of Xianfeng). About 800 meters of the original wall remain, constructed from strip-shaped stones, around 4 meters thick and 5 meters high. On March 6, 1950, the 142nd Regiment of the 48th Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army engaged in fierce combat with bandits here. In August 1999, the Luxian County government designated it as a Cultural Relics Protection Unit under the fourth batch of county-level designations.
