Xin Qiao in Longyan

Xin Qiao in Longyan is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Xin Qiao in Longyan, built in the 15th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1835), is a stone flat-beam bridge with three piers and four spans, extending from southeast to northwest across Hei Long Stream. The bridge is 15.28 meters long, with a deck width of 1.31 meters and a slab thickness of 0.5 meters. At the southwest end of the tops of the second and third piers from the northwest to the southeast, there is one carved stone dragon head each. Each dragon head is 0.97 meters long, 0.53 to 0.68 meters wide, and 0.64 meters high. The dragons’ mouths are open, showing their teeth, and their upper lips are curled upwards, presenting a vivid appearance. In June 2007, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province.
