Dragon Lantern Bridge

Dragon Lantern Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Dragon Lantern Bridge, built during the Qing Dynasty, is a two-pier, three-span stone flat-beam bridge oriented from southwest to northeast. The bridge is 7.15 meters long and 1.41 meters wide. Each of the two piers features a single round-carved dragon. The dragon heads are raised, mouths open and holding pearls, with their bodies forming an “S” shape. The dragon tails curl upward in a vertical spiral. The dragon heads and tails rise 0.2 to 0.4 meters above the bridge deck. The bridge is exquisitely carved, demonstrating skilled techniques, bold lines, and vivid, lifelike, and elegant forms that are also highly imposing. It is well-preserved, structurally sound, and is one of the typical representatives of Long Bridge in Luxian County. It holds significant value for the study of transportation, economy, folklore, and the art of carving during the Qing Dynasty. In June 2007, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
