Spider Bridge

Spider Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Spider Bridge, built during the Qing Dynasty, is a 2-pier, 3-span stone flat-beam bridge oriented from south to north. It is 10.86 meters long and 1.29 meters wide. Each of the two piers features one round-carved dragon. The dragon heads and tails protrude 0.25 to 0.4 meters above the bridge deck. The dragon heads are raised upward, and the bodies are in an "S" shape. The mouth of the dragon head on the first pier from west to east is slightly open, showing its teeth, with the tail curling upward in a vertical coil; the dragon head on the second pier has its mouth open, baring teeth and holding a pearl, with the tail curling upward in a vertical twist. The carving technique is quite delicate, refined yet generous. In June 2007, it was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
