Tongxian Tribute Pomelo Ecological Park

The Tongxian Tribute Pomelo Ecological Scenic Area is located in Tongxian Town, Anyue County, 21 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 3.4 square kilometers, it is an urban suburban eco-leisure resort focused on sightseeing, leisure agriculture, and rural tourism. The park integrates vacationing, sightseeing, dining and entertainment, as well as business conferences.

The Tongxian Tribute Pomelo Ecological Scenic Area is the birthplace of the Tongxian Tribute Pomelo, which has won the national gold award in pomelo competitions for seven consecutive sessions. Legend has it that the fruit was brought back by the Monkey King from the Peach Banquet at Flower-Fruit Mountain and abandoned as seeds after he ate the flesh. The seeds grew into towering pomelo trees, and after many twists and turns, they were brought to Anyue by the famous Tang Dynasty general Cheng Yaojin. Planted within the scenic area, the tree is revered by locals as the “Pomelo Immortal Tree.” For a thousand years, the Tongxian Tribute Pomelo has been beloved for its perfect balance of sweet and tart, crisp and tender texture, seedless nature, and rich fragrance, along with high contents of vitamins, minerals, and plant-derived insulin, making it a treasured tribute fruit to the royal court.
