In May 1934, under the leadership of the Suining-Suizhong County Committee of the CPC, party and youth league organizations in Dingxin Township developed rapidly, and a peasant Red Guards unit of over 40 members was established. In July, the Anyue County Soviet Government was founded in Dingxin Township. The Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC assigned “Sister Wu” (a code name) to Anyue to carry out activities related to peasants’ and women’s movements. The Anyue Party organization arranged for Sister Wu to work in the Shiyang-Dingxin area, where she stayed at the home of Huang Yongqian, captain of the Dingxin Township Red Guards, posing as his cousin. Sister Wu and Huang’s mother often used Zhujia Scripture Hall nearby as a cover for fortune-telling (lot-drawing) to promote the Soviet regime and Marxist-Leninist ideology, mobilizing the poor to join the revolution. As a result, Zhujia Scripture Hall became a propaganda base for the Suining-Suizhong County Committee.
