Site of the Guiyuan Bridge

The Neolithic Site of Guiyuan Bridge is located at Guiyuan Bridge, south of Shifang City. A large number of pottery artifacts, along with important relics such as stone adzes and stone axes, were excavated here. These items are typical of late Neolithic pottery from the Chengdu Plain. Sites from this stage of the Neolithic period are extremely rare across the Chengdu Plain and even the entire Sichuan Basin. This marks the first such discovery in Shifang and has pushed the city’s history back by approximately 2,000 years.
