Like Yu the Great, Li Bing was a figure shaped by water. While Yu the Great’s flood control efforts date back to ancient times, with his legacy blending into nature, Li Bing’s Dujiangyan Irrigation System and Zhu-Li-Huo Weirs remain strikingly prominent, benefiting the Chengdu Plain year after year.

The Lixue Mausoleum is situated on Zhangshan Mountain in Luoshui Town, Shifang. Over 2,200 years ago, in the twilight of his life, Li Bing passed away from exhaustion while working on a water conservancy project in Luoshui, Shifang. Experts have verified that Li Bing was originally from Shifang, a descendant of the Shushan clan. Given the tradition of people throughout history wishing to be buried where they came from—returning to one’s roots—Zhangshan Mountain is truly honored to host the great soul of this legendary figure.
