Foguang Temple

Foguang Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Foguang Temple was originally built during the Ming Dynasty and is located in Shizipingshan Village, Hongbai Town, Shifang. It was rebuilt during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty. The temple’s Mahavira Hall is a structure from the Qing Dynasty. Facing east and situated to the west, Foguang Temple has a courtyard layout. After the campaign to “smash the Four Olds” in 1968, only the main hall (the Mahavira Hall) remained, measuring 15.9 meters in width, 7.8 meters in depth, with a floor area of 124 square meters. It features a single-eave hip-and-gable roof, a post-and-lintel timber frame, with brackets adorned with cloud and antique motifs, golden melon-shaped hanging columns, and wooden pillars resting on inverted-bowl-shaped bases. There are 30 steps on either side of the platform foundation. The site holds significant cultural and historical value.
