Wenchang Palace is situated on Qiqu Mountain in the northern suburbs of Zitong County, Mianyang City, and serves as the principal building of the Qiqu Mountain Grand Temple. Originally constructed during the Jin Dynasty, the temple was initially a “Yazi Shrine” built by local people to honor Zhang Yazi from the Jin Dynasty. In the early Yuan Dynasty, following Zhang Yazi’s enshrinement as the “Wenchang Emperor,” the “Wenchang Palace” was erected here. It was subsequently expanded during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, forming a grand and well-preserved ancient architectural complex.
