Jinhua Mountain Scenic Area is located in the ancient town of Jinhua, about 20 kilometers north of Shehong County. Covering an area of approximately 50 square kilometers, it includes one mountain (Jinhua Mountain), one lake (Jinhua Lake), one dike (Jinhu Dike), one plateau (Xishan Plateau), and one ancient town (Jinhua Ancient Town). The mighty Fujiang River and the Mianyu First-Class Trunk Highway run from north to south through the entire area. It is renowned both at home and abroad as the birthplace and childhood home of Chen Zi'ang, a "literary giant of his generation," coupled with its beautiful waters and spiritual landscape.

Jinhua has a long history and has been a place of exceptional talent. As early as the Western Wei Dynasty, this was the seat of the county government of Shejiang (renamed Shehong during the Northern Zhou Dynasty) until the founding of New China. Generation after generation of Jinhua people have thrived on this land, creating abundant cultural achievements. Today, over 60,000 Jinhua residents carry forward the legacy of Zi'ang, boldly forging ahead, and with their unique wisdom and diligence, are meticulously painting a new vision of Jinhua within the context of the Western Development Initiative.

Jinhua boasts beautiful waters. The stunning Fujiang River, carrying the sanctity of Huanglong — often referred to as the “Heavenly Pool on Earth” — flows mightily from north to south, nourishing this land. Here, the river is intercepted by the magnificent Jinhua Hydroelectric Navigation Bridge project, forming the vast Jinhu Lake. The expansive lake stretches calmly, dotted with fishing boats and occasional visitors. A 3,000-meter-long dike serves as a graceful boundary, where gentle breezes rustle the willow trees. Along the dike, people leisurely relax and fish in peaceful contentment. Several small green islands float serenely in the blue waters. Truly, it is a heavenly scene on Earth, a paradise beyond the mundane world.

Jinhua Mountain is spiritually uplifting. Known as “the unparalleled scenery under heaven and the foremost mountain on Earth,” Jinhua Mountain is located in the northern suburbs of Jinhua Ancient Town. The mountain is covered with ancient cypress trees, and its pavilions and towers are densely arranged, each exquisitely crafted as if by heavenly hands. At the front of the mountain lies the Jinhua Mountain Taoist Temple, one of the Four Great Famous Temples in Sichuan with a history of 1,500 years. The back of the mountain is where Chen Zi'ang, a distinguished poet of the early Tang Dynasty and a literary master, once studied. The Chen Zi'ang Study Platform is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit. For this reason, Jinhua Mountain is hailed as "Among a thousand mountains, such scenery exists here; among ten thousand ancient study platforms, none compare to this one."

Jinhua is rich in historical sites. The town and its surrounding areas are dotted with "Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples," all exquisitely constructed, embodying a strong cultural atmosphere and extremely high cultural relic value. The mysterious Yanxia Well, the mountain-hugging Shengmi Temple and Shijing Temple, with their captivating and intriguing stories, attract countless visitors seeking tranquility and ancient charm. Among the many historical sites, the Doushuai Temple stands out the most. This ancient and serene nunnery is a typical Ming Dynasty-style monastery, large in scale, tranquil in environment, and bustling with incense offerings. The temple is frequented by a continuous stream of visitors and worshippers.

Jinhua Town has long been an important water and land hub along the middle reaches of the Fujiang River, attracting merchants from all directions. Today, the Mianyu First-Class Trunk Highway runs like a jade ribbon from north to south through the ancient town; the newly built Jinhua Hydroelectric Navigation Bridge spans the Fujiang River like a rainbow from east to west, bringing together merchants traveling from south to north and locals from both sides of the river. The town’s market is bustling with people, offering a dazzling array of fresh agricultural products, textiles, and daily necessities. Delicacies unique to Jinhua, such as the tender yet non-greasy "Pepper-Salted Pork Knuckle," the spicy and flavorful "Yellow Croaker," and "Li Xuehua," leave visitors from all over the world amazed. High-quality, tasteful hotels offer comfortable, elegant, and generous accommodations, while warm and attentive service makes every guest feel at home and reluctant to leave.

Jinhua Town is a national model town for small-town construction. Urban development highlights riverside characteristics, harmonizing with the ancient districts to form a landscape of “each street with its own scene, each street with its own uniqueness.” Adjacent to the ancient town, the Xishan Plateau Ecological Agriculture Demonstration Zone, with an investment of tens of millions, covers an area of over 1,500 acres and has become a well-known high-efficiency base for forestry, fruit, and flowers in central Sichuan. Supporting facilities in the zone, such as Tangyun Street and star-rated farm stays, provide the perfect destinations for eco-tourism and leisure.

Jinhua Town: Located in Shehong County, Jinhua Town lies on the northern edge of the central Sichuan hilly region, on the mid-western bank of the Fujiang River, bordering Santai County to the west. It covers an area of 99.7 square kilometers, with a total population of 60,462.

Jinhua Town is primarily characterized by low hills, along with some flatland. Its highest elevation is 674.4 meters (Tianbao Fort on Longdongping), with the Fujiang River running through the town. It has a subtropical humid climate, with an average annual temperature of 20°C, annual precipitation of about 950 millimeters, and a frost-free period of approximately 250 days per year.
