Introduction: Tongjiashan Temple is situated on Tongjiashan Slope in Tongjiashan Village, Qinggang Town. Twenty meters to the north lies the road from Qinggang to Liren. On the eve of the liberation, Tongjiashan was a Buddhist sacred site. After liberation, it was converted into a school. In the 1990s, the school was relocated to Yongtan School, and the area was restored as a temple. The surviving ancient architecture includes the Grand Buddha’s Hall, while the rest has been rebuilt or renovated after liberation. The entire temple is arranged in a courtyard layout, covering an area of 1,000 square meters with a built-up area of 500 square meters. The mountain gate faces south and has a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof with an unadorned platform base, which is 1.1 meters high. An 11-step ramp is located at the front with tiled-concrete structure. The Grand Buddha’s Hall was originally built in the first year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty. It faces north, has an unadorned base, with a three-tiered “ruyi” (auspicious) stairway at the front. It is 13.5 meters wide across four columns and three bays, 7.3 meters deep across three bays, with a ridge height of six meters and eave height of four meters. The wooden structure features a post-and-lintel beam frame, a single-eaved gable-and-hip roof, and is covered with gray glazed tiles. There are two surviving stone tablets from the Qing Dynasty: “Record of the Chaste Maiden Chen” and “Record of the Martyrdom of Chen Manga.” The Tongjiashan Grand Buddha’s Hall holds certain research value for the architectural structure and style of the Qing Dynasty. Approved by the Shehong County People's Government, it was listed as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in 1987.
