Ruins of Zhenwu Fort

The ruins of Zhenwu Fort are a cultural relic protection site of Shehong County.

The ruins of Zhenwu Fort are located on Tiantai Mountain in Qinggang Town, Shehong County. Originally built in the 10th year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty, the fortification was constructed using layered stone slabs and covers an area of over 7,000 square meters. Currently preserved are the southern wall and southern gate, which consist of inner and outer sections. On the inner gate’s lintel is carved the inscription, “Erected in the second month of the 10th year of Xianfeng, Zhenwu Fort.” The southern wall is 20 meters long and 2–4.5 meters high.

The discovery of Zhenwu Fort holds certain value for studying the structure of defensive engineering built in this region during the Qing Dynasty. It was added as a county-level cultural relic protection site in October 2012.
