Introduction to Guang’an Huaying Mountain The Guang’an Huaying Mountain tourist area in China is situated in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, within Huaying City, over 300 kilometers from Chengdu and more than 100 kilometers from Chongqing. Covering an area of 20 square kilometers, the scenic area is characterized by its verdant and dense mountain forests, with stunning karst stone forests and caves as its representative landscapes. It combines picturesque peaks, peculiar rocks, Buddhist culture, sinkholes and caves, lush woods and bamboo groves, as well as relics of the Huaying Mountain guerrilla fighters. The natural scenery and cultural sites complement each other, and the landscape features can be summarized as “peculiar peaks, strange rocks, green mountains, and serene valleys,” also showcasing seasonal changes described as “green in spring, shaded in summer, red in autumn, and white in winter.” The highest peak in the area, Gaodeng Peak, reaches an elevation of 1,704 meters and is frequented by visitors. According to the Huaying Mountain Annals, “Snow accumulates at the summit, and viewed from afar it resembles scattered jade and crystal covering the mountain, hence the name Huaying Mountain.” The area boasts magnificent natural scenery, with highlights that can be grouped into: two forests, two seas, and two scenic wonders. The two forests refer to the stone forest and the fir forest; the two seas refer to the sea of clouds and the sea of bamboo; the two scenic wonders are snow cover and sunrise. Each attraction has its own distinctive charm.
