Huaying Mountain Shilin Tourist Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, a national geopark, and a classic red tourism destination in China. Covering an area of about 20 square kilometers and situated 24 kilometers from Huaying City, it is famous for its uniquely shaped peaks, bizarre rocks, verdant mountains, and quiet valleys. The area’s Gaodeng Mountain, at an elevation of 1,704 meters, is the highest peak of the Huaying Mountain range. The scenic area enjoys an average annual temperature of 12°C, with the warmest monthly average reaching 20°C, making it an ideal summer retreat.

The scenic area features a lush, dense forest as its backdrop and is characterized by China’s unique, grand “bonsai-style” stone forest. The towering Huaying Mountains conceal the beautiful stone forest within vast woodlands, where green trees twine around the rock formations and the stones shelter the vibrant foliage, creating a fairyland where mountains are the stone forest, the stone forest is the mountain, and both blend and coexist in perfect harmony, showcasing a unique charm of serenity, tranquility, elegance, and wonder. The area boasts naturally-formed attractions such as "Wife Judging Her Husband," "A Thousand-Year Kiss," "Eight Hundred Arhats," and "The Magic Brush Blooms," all masterpieces of nature.

The area also features karst cave wonders, ancient temples from the Tang Dynasty, historical sites related to the Huaying Mountain guerrilla fighters, and the revolutionary legacy of the iconic "Double-Gun Granny."
