Dapoling Provincial Forest Park is situated at the northern end of Huaying Mountain, with elevations ranging from 850 to 1000 meters, and spans 867 hectares (13,000 mu). Seven kilometers to the west, the Xiangyu Railway runs parallel to the Qujiang and Zhouhe rivers; fifteen kilometers to the south, National Highway 318 is accessible via county-level roads; seventy-five kilometers to the north lies Hejia Airport, and to the east, the park borders Dazhu County.

The Dapoling Provincial Forest Park boasts lush vegetation, roaming wildlife, murmuring streams, and intersecting karst caves, offering unique scenery in all four seasons. No wonder the Sichuan Tourism Expert Group, after inspection, concluded that “the views here are fully comparable to those of Xishuangbanna in Yunnan.” Many visitors consider it the “Jiuzhaigou of Eastern Sichuan,” exclaiming, “This is a rare paradise on earth, an uncommon paradise in the human world.” As you look across the park, the first sight to greet you is the “Rain-Praying Divine Stele,” bestowed an imperial title during the Jiaqing era. Legend has it that “worshipping the stele brings rain,” and thus locals regard it as sacred. Next comes the scenery of “Xialitou,” where stalactites hang in spectacular and varied forms; the area can accommodate dozens of tables for dining and leisure.
