Maliuyan Waterfall

The Maliuyan Tourist Area is located in Xikou Town, Huaying City, covering an area of approximately 2.3 km² and situated 28 kilometers from downtown Huaying. It is a scenic spot successfully introduced by Huaying City in 2009, developed and built with great effort by Huaying Guanglv Tourism Development Co., Ltd. With a total investment of 51.23 million yuan, it serves as an ecological, amusement, and leisure destination integrating sightseeing, relaxation and vacation. The area focuses on Three Gorges legacy culture tourism, canyon waterfall sightseeing, and health and leisure vacation. It functions as a central exhibition and experience site for the Third Front construction in eastern Sichuan and Chongqing, as well as a canyon sightseeing and leisure vacation resort. Notably, the waterfall here has a drop that is twice as high as the main waterfall at Huangguoshu, making it the highest in western China. The nearby areas of Xikou, Qinghua, and Hechuan boast rich ethnic cultural customs—including burning bridge eggs during Qixi Festival and climbing Baoding Mountain on the 19th day of the sixth lunar month.
