The Guang'an Honey Pear Resort in Yingshi is situated at the western foot of Mount Huaying in Moon Slope Village, Lushi Town, Huaying City — the hometown of Deng Xiaoping. It was founded in 1996 by Ouyang Xiaoling, the fourth "Top Ten Outstanding Young Farmers in China." The resort is a multifunctional destination centered around high-quality early-ripening pears from southern China. It combines orchards, flower cultivation, animal husbandry, production, R&D, agricultural tourism, leisure vacations, and conference training, and is also one of the largest honey pear production bases in Sichuan. Spanning 12 kilometers, the resort covers three towns (streets) in Huaying City — Shuanghe, Lushi, and Tianchi — encompassing 25 villages and 126 communities. Its core area includes 10,000 mu of orchards spread across more than 30 mountain peaks, producing approximately 15,000 tons of high-quality honey pears annually. Thanks to the resort’s influence, surrounding farmers have actively developed over 30,000 mu of premium pear orchards. Over the past decade, through the expansion of its distinctive fruit industry base and the development of sightseeing and tourism facilities, the resort has become an important stop along the tourist loop connecting downtown Huaying, Tianchi Lake, and the Huaying Mountain Stone Forest Scenic Area. From mid- to late March each year, the vast expanse of blooming pear blossoms attracts around 300,000 visitors from all over.
