Ding Family Manor is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Ding Family Manor, located at the foot of the sedan-chair-shaped hill south of Linlang Mountain in Ma’an Town, Yilong County, Sichuan Province, is part of the Zhu De’s Hometown – Linlang Mountain Scenic Area. Locally known as the “Ding Family Landlord Manor,” “Ding Family Courtyard,” or “Ding Family Garden,” it was a luxurious estate built by four brothers—Ding Qiunan, Ding Qiuyu, Ding Qiuyu, and Ding Qiuzhen—who were wealthy Hakka descendants and among the richest locals during the late Qing and early Republican period. Covering an area of 6,800 square meters with a built-up area of 3,800 square meters, the manor integrates residential and defensive functions. It is grand in scale and renowned across northern Sichuan, even being hailed as the “First Manor of Northern Sichuan” during the Republican era. Experts in Hakka studies refer to it as the “Last Solitary One,” since few Hakka residences—especially those in Yilong—have been so completely preserved and entered the modern public eye. Owing to its well-preserved state, it is hailed as a museum of Hakka folk culture in northern Sichuan.

In May 2013, Ding Family Manor was designated as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Protected Area: 40 meters east towards the parking lot, 100 meters south, 20 meters west, and 100 meters north towards the sedan-chair-shaped hill.

Construction Control Zone: 60 meters east towards the parking lot, 150 meters south, 50 meters west, and 100 meters north towards the sedan-chair-shaped hill.

Ma’an Town: A town under the administration of Yilong County. The Ma’an Market was established during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, and was renamed Yong’an Market in the same year. In 1940, it became Ma’an Township, and was upgraded to a town in 1985. Located in the northeastern part of the county, it is 22 kilometers from the county seat. The town covers an area of 50.5 square kilometers and has a population of 30,000. Provincial highways Yilong–Ma’an, Ma’an–Zhoukou, and Ma’an–Wazi pass through the area.
