Longshenya Rural Tourism Scenic Area

Longshenya Rural Tourism Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Longshenya Rural Tourism Scenic Area is located in Xinzhen Town, about 3 kilometers south of Yilong County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, and boasts beautiful natural scenery. The village features over 10 natural and cultural landscape sites, including Pujia Cave, Zuofang Gully, Shenlong Stone, Shenlong Pool, Red Army Ferry, Fortress Tower, Longshen Temple, Zheng Family Courtyard, Shimen Coffin, and Ancient People’s Cave.

The village landscape features undulating hills, surrounded by mountains such as Brush Rack Mountain, Brush Tip Mountain, and Fortress Ridge. With its clear waters and lush scenery, the area is pleasantly picturesque. The scenic zone is home to a variety of wild animals, including egrets, pheasants, wild ducks, turtle doves, owls, badgers, and weasels, and enjoys a forest coverage rate of over 60%. Additionally, the village has established concentrated industrial plantations, including more than 600 acres of peach and citrus trees. During the flowering seasons, the area attracts large numbers of visitors, and events such as the Peach Blossom Festival have been successfully held here.

In 2008, taking advantage of an opportunity where the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and Baolong Group were supporting the construction of four new rural demonstration villages nationwide, the village developed a rural tourism plan designed to meet AA-level scenic area standards. It now boasts well-developed tourism facilities, including visitor reception centers, parking lots, restrooms, and road signage. There are over 20 local farmhouse inns in the village, capable of receiving nearly 2,000 visitors daily.

Longshenya Scenic Area is rich in cultural heritage and blessed with beautiful natural ecology. According to information obtained by Love Sichuan Tourism website from the Yilong County Tourism Bureau in Nanchong City, the Longshenya Scenic Area has undergone nearly three years of development and applied for national AA-level scenic area status this year.

It is understood that Shenlong Pond in the Longshenya Scenic Area was expanded from the original Zhengjiawan Reservoir and named Shenlong Pond. Visitors can fish in the pond and have their catch cooked on-site at the farmhouse inns, which adds an element of fun—it is one of the participatory recreational activities planned in the Longshenya Rural Tourism Scenic Area. In addition, the scenic area also offers experiential activities such as swing rides, lovers’ waterwheels, hand-pushed stone mills, and agricultural experience sessions.
