Qile Temple

Qile Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Nanchong was anciently known as Guozhou. To the west of the city lie twelve continuous peaks, among which Qile Mountain towers supreme, serving as a shield to the west of the town. Atop the mountain stands the temple called “Qile Temple,” a renowned and spiritual Buddhist site in northeastern Sichuan. Within the temple, there is a spring that remains clear and full year-round, never drying up even in droughts, and is known as the “Qile Spiritual Pool.” It is listed as one of the Eight Ancient Scenic Spots of Nanchong. The ancient Qile Temple features red walls, green tiles, soaring eaves, and elegant pavilions, exuding solemnity and grandeur. In 1999, the reconstruction of Qile Temple was approved by the provincial and municipal governments.
