Heibaoshan Forest Park is located in the central-southern part of Wanyuan City. The forest farm was established in 1958, and the total area of the forest park is 39,843 mu, with a forest coverage rate of over 99.09%.

Heibaoshan Forest Park belongs to the northern subtropical monsoon climate zone, with distinct seasons, many frost days, few snow days, frequent and strong winds, and a clearly defined vertical climate. It experiences significant climatic variation, with long winters and summers but short springs and autumns, ample sunshine, and a warm, humid environment. The unique natural surroundings create a distinctive microclimate—warm in winter and cool in summer—with an average annual temperature of around 14.8°C. Summers are free of intense heat, and winters are without severe cold, making it an ideal summer retreat and leisure destination in the Qinba region.

Heibaoshan Forest Park boasts lush vegetation and dense woods, where broadleaf and coniferous forests display varying shades and postures. Mixed deciduous broadleaf forests present a colorful palette, while vast bamboo groves are vibrant and lush. Spring blossoms and autumn foliage, winding mountain paths, murmuring streams over clear waters—all create enchanting scenery that captivates visitors. Strolling through the park, you’ll find flowers in bloom throughout the seasons and historic sites waiting to be discovered. Layered mountains, secluded valleys, towering ancient trees, and meandering trails form a picturesque landscape of deep forests and beautiful scenery. Bamboo paths lead to serene spots, and bamboo shoots stand like delicate screens, all adding to the area’s irresistible charm.

Heibaoshan Forest Park is also the site of a former Red Army battlefield, where well-preserved, staggered trenches still remain.
