The Lotus Pond Moonlight Scenic Area in Mingyue Township, Xuanhan County, has recently been rated as a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction by the Dazhou City Tourism Attraction Quality Rating Committee. With this, Dazhou gains another AAA-level scenic spot.

It is reported that the Mingyue Township Lotus Pond Moonlight Scenic Area is located 7.4 kilometers from Xuanhan County, adjacent to the Yanglie Water Town Scenic Area, within the Eastern Sichuan Tourism Demonstration Zone. Covering an area of 14.5 square kilometers, the scenic area is famous for its thousand-mu lotus ponds, modern agriculture, and rich local cultural legends. It is described as having "osmanthus in three autumns and lotuses stretching for ten miles." The area enjoys a prominent geographical location and convenient transportation.

It is understood that the scenic area mainly includes a thousand-mu lotus planting base in Dayuchi Village of Mingyue Township and a modern agricultural park in Xiaoyuchi Village. Focusing on the development of ecological agriculture and rural tourism, the area has been developed into one lake (fishing lake), two corridors (lakeside walking and leisure promenades), and three gardens (flower garden, fruit garden, and vegetable garden). Relying on fruit cultivation, watermelon, strawberry, and grape picking experience zones have also been established. In addition, the scenic area features special attractions such as Luozijing Well, the Nine-Section Tuolong, the century-old Renjia Courtyard, an agricultural culture exhibition room, and the new Mingyue Village, all rich in historical and cultural atmosphere.

Mingyue Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Xuanhan County. Established as a market town during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, it became Mingyue Township in 1949, was reorganized as a commune in 1958, and restored as a township in 1984. Located in the southwestern part of the county, it is 8.3 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 26.3 square kilometers with a population of 12,000, it is traversed by the Xuan (Xing) – Wei (Xing) Highway. The township administers six village committees: Huangma, Zhongshi, Pingdeng, Wangu, Shigang, and Dayuchi. Local enterprises include grain and oil processing and bamboo weaving factories.
