Honghuachang Residential House

Honghuachang Residential House is located in Group 8, Pengwan Village, Fushan Town, facing southwest and situated to the northeast. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, the building covers an area of 552 square meters. It was constructed by a local landlord surnamed Peng, featuring a wooden structure and a traditional courtyard (siheyuan) layout.

The entire complex consists of an entrance hall, main hall, storage rooms, a flower hall, and wing rooms. The entrance hall is built on a 2-meter-high bluestone platform, with twelve stone steps at the front, a tiled roof with small blue tiles, a flush-gable and mixed-style roof, a post-and-lintel structure, and an ornamental gate in a fanned shape. It spans three bays with a width of 9 meters and a depth of 4.18 meters.

Inside the entrance hall is a large open courtyard. To the left is the storage room, and to the right are wing rooms and the flower hall. Five stone steps from the courtyard lead up to the main hall. The main hall also has a tiled roof with small blue tiles, a flush-gable roof, and a post-and-lintel structure. It spans three bays with a width of 14.5 meters and a depth of 8.8 meters.

The overall layout of the building is neat and well-organized. Its wooden carvings, including skirt boards, lattice windows, and bracket arms, are abundant and exquisitely crafted. The mud sculptures on the roof ridges feature natural and fluid floral patterns.

The Honghuachang Residential House in Fushan is a typical example of residential architecture in southern Sichuan. It is exquisitely built and well-preserved, possessing significant historical and cultural value.
